Indication:
It is used to treat intestinal and parenteral amebiasis (such as amebic liver abscess, pleural amebiasis, etc.). It can also be used to treat vaginal trichomoniasis, baculosis, skin leishmaniasis, guinea worm infection, etc. At present, it is also widely used in the treatment of anaerobic infection.

Usage and dosage:1. Adult common dose
Intestinal amebiasis, 0.4 ~ 0.6g (2-3 tablets) once, 3 times a day for 7 days; Extraintestinal amoebiasis, 0.6 ~ 0.8g (3-4 tablets) once, 3 times a day for 20 days.
Giardiasis, 0.4g (2 tablets) once, 3 times a day, for 5 ~ 10 days.
Guinea worm disease, 0.2 (1 tablet) g once, 3 times a day for 7 days.
Baculosis, 0.2g (1 tablet) once, twice a day for 5 days.
Cutaneous leishmaniasis, 0.2g (1 tablet) once, 4 times a day, for 10 days. Repeat a course of treatment after an interval of 10 days.
Trichomoniasis, 0.2g (1 tablet) once, 4 times a day for 7 days; Suppository can be used at the same time, 0.5g per night into the vagina for 7 ~ 10 days.
For anaerobic infection, take 0.6 ~ 1.2g (3-6 tablets) orally every day, three times, 7 ~ 10 days as a course of treatment.

Adverse reactions
Adverse reactions occurred in 15% ~ 30% of cases, and gastrointestinal reactions were the most common, including nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite and abdominal colic, which generally did not affect the treatment; Nervous system symptoms include headache, dizziness, occasional paresthesia, limb numbness, ataxia, multiple neuritis, etc. large doses can cause convulsions. In a few cases, urticaria, flushing, pruritus, cystitis, dysuria, metallic taste in the mouth and leucopenia are reversible and recover automatically after drug withdrawal.

Taboo:
It is forbidden for patients with active central nervous system diseases and hematological diseases.

Matters needing attention:
(1) Interference to diagnosis: the metabolites of this product can make the urine dark red.
(2) The dose should be reduced in patients with existing liver diseases. The drug should be stopped in case of dyskinesia or other central nervous system symptoms. White blood cells should be counted before repeating a course of treatment. For patients with anaerobic infection complicated with renal failure, the administration interval should be extended from 8 hours to 12 hours.
(3) This product can inhibit alcohol metabolism. You should quit drinking during medication. After drinking, you may have abdominal pain, vomiting, headache and other symptoms.
