Microbiological Appl ications [Bacter ial Fermentation]
Different configurations are available for the addition of air or oxygen. Both aerobic and anaerobic fermentations are suitable for bacterial fermentation. For concentrated aerobic fermentat ion processes, the oxygen concentration and quantity is important, while for anaerobic fermentation processes, the air inlet can be switched to nitrogen. Standard installation of so lenoid valves combined with flow meters ensures reliable gas supply. The optional mass flow controller allows precise batch processing of individua| gases and is useful for exper imental and production purposes,such as baIancing inlet gases in conjunction with exhaust gas ana lysis to study fermentat ion eff iciency.
