Indication:
It can be used for the treatment and prevention of angina pectoris of coronary heart disease. It can also be used for lowering blood pressure or treating congestive heart failure.

Usage and dosage:Adults take 0.25-0.5mg (half tablet-1 tablet) sublingually. One tablet can be repeated every 5 minutes until the pain is relieved. If pain persists after a total of 3 tablets within 15 minutes, seek medical attention immediately. Preventive use 5-10 minutes before activity or defecation can avoid inducing angina pectoris.

Adverse reactions
(1) Headache: can occur immediately after medication, can be severe pain and persistent.
(2) Occasionally, vertigo, weakness, palpitation and other postural hypotension can occur, especially in patients with upright and immobilization.
(3) Obvious hypotension reactions occurred in the treatment dose, such as nausea, vomiting, weakness, sweating, pallor and collapse.
(4) Syncope, blush, drug eruption and exfoliative dermatitis were all reported.

Taboo:
It is forbidden in patients with early myocardial infarction (severe hypotension and tachycardia), severe anemia, glaucoma, increased intracranial pressure and known allergy to nitroglycerin. Sildenafil citrate (Viagra), which enhances the hypotensive effect of nitroglycerin, is also banned..

Matters needing attention:
(1) The minimum dose that can effectively alleviate acute angina should be used, and excessive dosage may lead to tolerance. Tablet is used for sublingual administration, and cannot be swallowed.
(2) Severe hypotension may occur at low doses, especially in upright position. Patients should take seats as much as possible when taking drugs under the tongue to avoid falling due to dizziness.
(3) It should be used carefully in patients with insufficient blood volume or low systolic pressure
(4) The abnormal tachycardia can be used to alleviate the aggravation of angina pectoris when hypotension is induced.
(5) It can worsen angina caused by hypertrophic obstructive cardiomyopathy.
(6) It can occur tolerance to vascular and anti angina.
(7) If vision is blurred or dry mouth, stop the drug. Too much dose can cause severe headache.

Medication for pregnant and lactating women:
It is not known whether it causes fetal damage or affects fertility, so it can only be used for pregnant women if it is really necessary, and whether it is excreted from human milk. Therefore, lactating women should be cautious.
