Ingredients The main ingredient of this product is ampicillin sodium, which is chemically named as (2S,5R,6R)-3, 3-dimethyl-6 - [(R) -2-amino-2-phenylacetylamino] -7-oxo-4-thiaza-1-azacyclic [3.2.0] heptane - 2-formate sodium salt.

[Properties] The product is a white or quasi-white powder or crystal.

[Indications] It is suitable for respiratory tract infection, gastrointestinal tract infection, urinary tract infection, soft tissue infection, endocarditis, meningitis, sepsis and so on caused by sensitive bacteria.

[Usage and Dosage] Adults: Intramuscular injection 2 ~ 4g a day, divided into 4 times; Intravenous infusion or injection dose is 4 to 8g a day, divided into 2 to 4 times. The daily dose can be increased to 12g for patients with severe infection, with a maximum daily dose of 14g. For children: intramuscular injection was given in 4 times per day according to body weight of 50 ~ 100mg/kg; Intravenous infusion or injection 100 ~ 200mg/kg per day according to body weight, divided into 2 ~ 4 times. The maximum daily dose is 300mg/kg according to body weight. Term newborns: 12.5-25mg /kg, once every 12 hours on the first and second day of birth, once every 8 hours on the third day to the second week, and once every 6 hours thereafter. Premature infants: 12.5 ~ 50mg/kg at the first week of birth, 1 ~ 4 weeks and above 4 weeks according to body weight.

[Adverse Reactions] Adverse reactions of this product are similar to penicillin, and allergic reactions are more common. Rash is the most common reaction, usually occurring 5 days after the administration of urticaria or maculopapules; Interstitial nephritis can also occur; Anaphylactic shock is occasionally seen. Once it occurs, emergency treatment must be carried out on the spot, with airway unblocked, oxygen inhalation, epinephrine, glucocorticoids and other treatment measures. Granulocyte and thrombocytopenia are occasionally seen in patients receiving ampicillin. Antibiotic-related enteritis is rare, with elevated serum transaminase in a few patients. Neurotoxic symptoms such as convulsions can occur after intravenous administration of large doses of ampicillin, and increased intracranial pressure may occur in infants after the administration of ampicillin, manifested as prohalogen bulge.

Ampicillin can reduce the effectiveness of oral contraceptives by stimulating estrogen metabolism or reducing its hepatointestinal circulation.

[Pharmacological effects] Ampicillin sodium is a broad-spectrum semisynthetic penicillin. This product has a strong antibacterial effect on hemolytic streptococcus, streptococcus pneumoniae and non-penicillinase staphylococcus, similar to penicillin or a little less than penicillin. Ampicillin also had a good antibacterial effect on Streptococcus virifolia and was superior to penicillin in Enterococcus and Listeria. This product has antibacterial activity against Corynebacterium diphtheria, Bacillus anthracis, Actinomycetes, Haemophilus influenzae, Bortobacterium pertussis, Neisseria and anaerobic bacteria except Bacteroides fragilis. Some Proteus bizarre, Escherichia coli, Salmonella and Shigella bacteria are sensitive to this product. Ampicillin plays a bactericidal role by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis.
