Indication:

This product is suitable for the following infections caused by sensitive pathogens:
1. Acute attack of acute bronchitis and chronic bronchitis: caused by Streptococcus pneumoniae, Haemophilus influenzae (including β - lactamase producing strain), Haemophilus parainfluenzae (including β - lactamase producing strain), Moraxella catarrhalis (including β - lactamase producing strain) and Staphylococcus aureus.
2. Pharyngitis and tonsillitis: caused by Streptococcus pyogenes (group A streptococcus). (penicillin is generally the drug of choice for the treatment and prevention of streptococcal infections, including the prevention of rheumatic fever. Although this product is usually effective in removing Streptococcus from oropharynx, there is not enough data to prove that this product can prevent rheumatic fever.
3. Pneumonia: caused by Streptococcus pneumoniae, Haemophilus influenzae (including β - lactamase producing strains) and Moraxella catarrhalis (including β - lactamase producing strains).
4. Sinusitis: caused by Streptococcus pneumoniae (penicillin sensitive strain only), Haemophilus influenzae (including β - lactamase producing strain), and Moraxella catarrhalis (including β - lactamase producing strain).
5. Simple lower urinary tract infection includes cystitis and asymptomatic bacteriuria caused by Escherichia coli, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Proteus mirabilis and Staphylococcus saprophyticus.
6. Skin and soft tissue infection: caused by Streptococcus pyogenes (group A streptococcus), Staphylococcus aureus (including beta lactamase producing strains), and Staphylococcus epidermidis (including beta lactamase producing strains).
It is necessary to carry out bacteriological study to confirm the etiological diagnosis and determine the sensitivity of the pathogen to cefaclor. The treatment was started immediately after the corresponding specimens were collected. The antibiotics were adjusted according to the results of culture and drug sensitivity.

Usage and dosage:  Oral, and should not be broken, crushed or chewed. It is not necessary to take meals when taking the medicine, but taking it with food can increase the absorption of the product.

1. Pharyngitis, tonsillitis and skin and soft tissue infection: 375 mg (one tablet), twice a day.
2. Lower urinary tract infection: 375mg (one tablet), twice a day.
3. Acute attack of chronic bronchitis: 375 mg (one tablet), twice a day.
4. Pneumonia and sinusitis: 750mg (two tablets), twice a day.
For the treatment of infection caused by Streptococcus pyogenes (group A streptococcus), the course of treatment of this product should be at least 10 days.

Adverse reactions

Literature reports: most of the adverse reactions observed in clinical trials were mild and transient; 1.7% of the patients stopped treatment due to drug-related adverse reactions. The following adverse reactions have been reported in clinical trials, with the incidence of less than 1% except for those specially mentioned.
Gastrointestinal reactions: diarrhea, nausea, vomiting and indigestion.
Allergic reactions: rash, urticaria, or itching. It has been reported that patients with cefaclor had serological reaction.
Blood and lymphatic system: polycythemia.
Genitourinary system: vaginal candidiasis, vaginitis.
Central nervous system: headache, dizziness and drowsiness.
Liver: transient elevation of serum alanine aminotransferase (ALT), aspartate aminotransferase (AST) and alkaline phosphatase (ALP).
Kidney: transient increase of serum urea nitrogen (BUN) or creatinine.
Laboratory tests: transient thrombocytopenia, leucopenia, lymphocytosis, neutropenia and abnormal urine analysis.
In addition to the above observed adverse reactions, the following adverse reactions and laboratory abnormalities were found in patients treated with cefaclor:
Erythema multiforme, fever, allergic reaction (penicillin allergy may be more common), Stevens Johnson syndrome, direct positive Coomb's test and genital pruritus. Pseudomembranous enteritis may occur during or after antibiotic treatment. It has been reported that pseudomembranous enteritis can be caused by the use of a large number of broad-spectrum antibiotics. Allergic reactions can be manifested as isolated symptoms, including angioneurotic edema, weakness, edema (including face and limbs), dyspnea, paresthesia, syncope and vasodilation.
Allergic symptoms lasting for several months are rare.
The following adverse reactions were rare in patients treated with cefaclor
Toxic epidermal necrosis, reversible interstitial nephritis, and liver dysfunction including cholestasis. When cefaclor is combined with warfarin, prothrombin time is prolonged, reversible hyperactivity, neuroticism, insomnia, myotonia, aplastic anemia, agranulocytosis, and hemolytic anemia are observed.
In addition to the above adverse reactions, the following adverse reactions have been reported in patients treated with β - lactams: enteritis, abnormal renal function, toxic nephropathy, cholestatic jaundice, eosinophilia, abnormal liver function test, abnormal renal function test, candidiasis.
Some β - lactam antibiotics can cause epileptic seizures, especially in patients with renal insufficiency. In case of epilepsy related to drug treatment, the treatment should be stopped and anticonvulsant drugs should be given according to the clinical situation.

Taboo:

Cefaclor should not be used in patients who are known to be allergic to cefaclor and other cephalosporins

Matters needing attention:

1. for any patient who has been confirmed to have some allergic symptoms, especially for patients with allergies to certain drugs, it should be cautious when using this product, especially for patients with penicillin allergy. If allergic reaction occurs after using this product, it should be stopped immediately. Emergency measures shall be taken if necessary, including oxygen inhalation, intravenous antihistamine, adrenaline, tracheal intubation, etc.
2. the renal function is not complete or the liver function is not complete the person uses carefully.
3. patients who use this product should pay attention to the possibility of pseudomembranous colitis. The severity of pseudomembranous enteritis can vary from mild to life threatening. The patients with mild enteritis can only stop the antimicrobial drugs, and the moderate and severe patients need to take appropriate treatment measures.
4. the product should be placed in a place that children cannot touch.
5. the clinical test value sometimes appears the direct cooms test positive; sometimes there will be false positive urine sugar.

Medication for pregnant and lactating women:

Pregnant women did not carry out sufficient and well controlled research, only when they really need it can be used for pregnant women; delivery period: there is no research data on the effect of this product on delivery, only when it is really necessary to give treatment; lactation period: it can be detected in the milk one hour after taking the drug, and lactating women should use this product with caution.
