Indication:
It is applicable to the combined treatment of pulmonary tuberculosis caused by Mycobacterium tuberculosis with other antituberculous drugs. It can also be used for the treatment of tuberculous meningitis and atypical mycobacterial infection.

Usage and dosage:1. Common dosage for adults: combined with other antituberculous drugs, for the initial treatment of tuberculosis, take it once a day according to the weight of 15mg / kg, or take 25-30mg / kg orally each time, up to 10 tablets, 3 times a week; Or 50mg / kg, up to 10 tablets, twice a week. Tuberculosis was retreated once a day according to the weight of 25mg / kg for 60 consecutive days, followed by 15mg Ag according to the weight. Atypical mycobacterial infection, 15-25mg / kg daily, once a meal;
2. Common dosage for children: This product should not be used under the age of 13; The dosage for children over 13 years old is the same as that for adults.

Adverse reactions
1. The patients with higher incidence are blurred vision, eye pain, red and green color blindness or decreased vision and reduced visual field (optic neuritis is easy to occur when the daily dose is more than 25mg / kg). Visual acuity changes can be unilateral or bilateral;
2. The patients with less incidence were chills, joint swelling and pain (especially big toe, condyle and knee), fever and tension of the skin on the surface of the diseased joint (acute gout and hyperuricemia);
3. Allergic reactions such as rash, fever and joint pain are rare; Or numbness, acupuncture sensation, burning pain or weakness of hands and feet (peripheral neuritis).

Matters needing attention:
1. Interference to diagnosis: taking this product can increase the measured value of blood uric acid concentration.
2. The following cases should be used with caution: gout, optic neuritis and renal dysfunction.
3. Check during treatment. Eyes, visual field, visual acuity, red and green discrimination, etc. shall be checked once a day before and during the course of treatment, especially for patients with a long course of treatment and a daily dose of more than 15mg / kg; Determination of serum uric acid, because this product can increase the concentration of serum uric acid and cause gout attack. Therefore, it should be measured regularly in the course of treatment.
4. In case of gastrointestinal irritation, ethambutol can be taken with food. The daily dose can not reach the effective blood drug concentration. Therefore, this product should be taken once a day.
5. When ethambutol is used alone, bacteria can quickly develop drug resistance, so it must be used in combination with other anti tuberculosis drugs. When this product is used in patients who have received anti tuberculosis drugs, it should be combined with at least one drug.
6. Since there is no practical method to determine the blood drug concentration, the dose should be calculated according to the patient's body weight. For patients with liver or renal dysfunction, the blood drug concentration of this product may increase and the half-life may be prolonged. Patients with renal dysfunction need to be reduced.

Medication for pregnant and lactating women:
1. Ethambutol can pass through the placenta, and the fetal blood concentration is about 30% of the maternal blood concentration. In mouse experiment, high dose of this product can cause cleft palate, brain exposure and spinal deformity; High dose of this product can cause mild cervical deformity in rats; In rabbits, high dose of this product can cause deformities such as monocular deformity, short limb, rabbit lip and cleft palate. Although it has not been confirmed in humans, pregnant women still need to fully weigh the advantages and disadvantages. The effect of this product on fetus when combined with other drugs is not clear.
2. Ethambutol can be distributed in milk, and the concentration is similar to that in blood. Although there is no problem in humans, the advantages and disadvantages of medication for lactating women must be weighed.
