Indication:

Usage and dosage:1. Common dosage for adults: combined with other antituberculosis drugs, initial treatment of tuberculosis, taking orally 25-30mg / kg once a day according to body weight 15mg / kg, maximum 10 tablets, three times a week; Or 50mg / kg, up to 10 tablets, twice a week. Tuberculosis was retreated by taking 25mg / kg once a day for 60 days, followed by 15mg Ag once a day. Atypical mycobacterium infection, 15-25mg / kg, once a day;
2. Common dosage for children: it is not suitable for children under 13 years old; The dosage for children over 13 years old is the same as that for adults.

Adverse reactions
1. The most common causes were blurred vision, eye pain, red and green color blindness or vision loss, visual field narrowing (optic neuritis is easy to occur when the daily dose is more than 25 mg / kg). Visual acuity changes can be unilateral or bilateral;
2. Chills, joint swelling and pain (especially big toe, condyle and knee joint), skin fever and tension (acute gout and hyperuricemia) were less common;
3. Allergic reactions such as rash, fever and arthralgia were rare; Or numbness, needling sensation, burning pain or weakness of hands and feet (peripheral neuritis)

1. Interference to diagnosis: taking this product can increase the measured value of serum uric acid concentration.

3. It should be checked during the treatment. Eye, visual field, vision, red and green discrimination, etc. should be checked once a day before and during the course of treatment, especially for patients with a long course of treatment and a daily dose of more than 15mg / kg; Determination of serum uric acid, because this product can increase the concentration of serum uric acid, causing gout attack. Therefore, in the course of treatment should be measured regularly.
4. In case of gastrointestinal irritation, ethambutol can be taken with food. The effective blood concentration can't be reached by taking the drug in different times a day, so it's better to take it once a day.
5. When ethambutol is used alone, bacteria can rapidly develop drug resistance, so it must be combined with other anti tuberculosis drugs. When used in patients who have received anti tuberculosis drugs, it should be combined with at least one drug.
6. Since there is no practical method to determine the plasma concentration, the dosage should be calculated according to the weight of the patient. In patients with liver or kidney dysfunction, the plasma concentration of this product may increase and the half-life may be prolonged. The dosage should be reduced in patients with renal dysfunction.

Medication for pregnant and lactating women:
1. Ethambutol can pass through the placenta. The concentration of ethambutol in fetal blood is about 30% of that in maternal blood. High dose of this product can cause cleft palate, brain exposure and spinal deformity in mice; In rats, high dose of the drug can cause mild cervical deformity; In rabbits, high dose of this product can cause deformities such as monocular deformity, short limbs, cleft lip and palate. Although it has not been proved in human, the advantages and disadvantages of pregnant women should be fully weighed. The effect of the combination of this product and other drugs on the fetus is unclear.
2. Ethambutol can be distributed in milk, and its concentration is similar to that in blood. Although it has not been proved to be a problem in human beings, the advantages and disadvantages of ethambutol should be weighed in breast-feeding women.
